Frequently Asked Questions

Question: When does the workshop start on Sunday?

Answer: Dorm registration is from 3-5 p.m. Sunday. This allows you a chance to get settled in your room for the week before the first sessions on Sunday evening.

Question: When do sessions start on Sunday?

Answer: All sessions start at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

Question: When do I pay for the credits and are they transferable?

Answer: Enrollment and payment for the credits takes place Sunday evening. The credits have always been transferable to any graduate course of study and accepted by school districts for advancement on the salary schedule. The workshop will be transcipted as ED508 Supervision of High School Publications.

Question: What are the requirements for the additional project done after the workshop is over?

Answer:  Generally, you will need to complete a project that represents about 30 hours of additional work. You will work with your instructor to design your project. We like the projects to be useful to you in your classes for the fall. You will be given a due date to return the project if you want the credits to appear on your transcript for the summer term. That date is usually in mid-August.

Question: How and when do I receive my credits?

Answer: If you meet the deadline for the project during August, your grade will be posted as part of the summer term grades which are out in late August. Oregon State University does not send out grade slips. You will need to obtain your grade by logging onto the Oregon State website after the date that grades are posted. You will be given instructions about this process during the week.

Question: Am I able to receive Professional Development Credit?

Answer: Yes, you will be given a certificate for 30 hours in instruction. However, most school districts require you to pre-approve this workshop before credit will be accepted. Contact your district for clarification. We will be glad to submit any information needed to have this workshop approved. Contact J.D. for information you may need if the information on this site is not sufficient to have your request approved.
